Harmanpreet Kaur Only Indian Cricketer Shortlisted for ‘Team of the Decade’

Women's Big Bash League will select best team based on performances over the past 10 years

November 8, 2024 - Yesterday, 50 cricketers were shortlisted for the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) Team of the Decade. Indian star all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur is the only Indian cricketer included in the list. She is the captain of the Indian women's cricket team.

The WBBL started in the 2015-16 season, and the league is now preparing to select its best team based on performances over the past 10 years, which will include the 12 greatest cricketers in the league's history. This team will be called the Team of the Decade, and the selected players will be honoured during this season of the league.

Only those players who have played at least 60 matches before the current season will be considered for the Team of the Decade. A selection panel has been appointed to finalise the 12 members of this team.

For Harmanpreet Kaur, making it to the Team of the Decade will not be easy. Of the 12 members, only three foreign players will be included, while the rest will be Australian players.

The final team will be announced on December 1, the day of the WBBL final, after the selection panel reviews fan votes and combines them with their own chosen names.
