Maharana Pratap Sports Complex to be Available for Sports Activities

District Sports Council in a ceremony organized at Chitrakoot Nagar, requested MLA Gulab Chand Kataria for transferring Maharana Pratap Sports Complex to Council, after completing pending infrastructural work on the site.
According to Dilip Singh Jhala, President, District Sports Council, “Presently Maharana Pratap Sports Complex is under construction from past 10 years, where construction begun back in year 2003 on a huge area of around 127 acres by Urban Improvement Trust (UIT).”
Dilip Singh Jhala added that Sports Complex is been equipped with a Tennis Court, Basketball Court, Swimming Pool, Squash Court and a Convention Center. Apart from this, other facilities were also proposed which includes an Accommodation for players and a Canteen.
Jhala also added that UIT incurred more than Rs80 crore over the project and is ready to transfer whole infrastructure to Sports Council, but Sports Complex is missing with some basic amenities like Toilets, Power, Water Supply and Connecting Roads.
Gulab Chand Kataria on the matter gave assurance that in coming 6 months all the missing facilities will be installed soon. Talks with higher authorities are on for organizing a national level tournament at the same.
Kataria in his address added that RCA would be given a notice for developing Cricket Ground, as UIT has already provided required land for the ground which is also part of Sports Complex.
