Udaipur’s Mahika and Jhanvi secure gold and silver medals at North Zone Shooting Competition
Medals in double trap event of shotgun shooting
On Raksha Bandhan, during the 42nd North Zone Shooting Competition held in New Delhi, Mahika Kitawat and Jhanvi Soni from Lake City secured significant achievements in rifle shooting. Mahika Kitawat, hailing from Udaipur, clinched the individual gold medal in the double trap event of shotgun shooting. Simultaneously, Jahnavi Soni, also representing Udaipur, earned the individual silver medal in the double trap event of shotgun shooting. The competition took place at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi, spanning from August 26, 2023 onwards.
Dr. Jitendra Singh Mayda from the Mewari Shooting Club Rajasthan expressed that on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the achievements of both daughters have added to the prestige of Mewar. The medal wins have brought joy to everyone involved. Mahika's father, Kishan Singh Kitawat, and Jhanvi's father, Deepak Soni, also extended their congratulations to the accomplished daughters. Shashank Korani, the secretary of the Rajasthan Rifle Association, stated that both shooters are presently engaged in practice sessions at the Jagatpura shooting range in Jaipur.
