National Kayaking & Canoeing Tournament from Tomorrow

National Kayaking & Canoeing Tournament was inaugurated today at Fateh Sagar on the beats of Police Band at 5 PM. Tournament will commence at 7 am tomorrow.

Along with the Chief-Guest Raghuveer Meena, Balveer Singh Kushwaha, S. Raghunath, Gajendra Singh Shaktawat, Buddhiprakash Chaggani, Mukesh Bhargav, Ajitabh Sharma, Sharad Kothari and Asha Paliwal were present in the inaugural ceremony.

Chandragupt Chauhan, Mahesh Peenpalkar and Praveen Purohit presented garlands, Pagdi and welcomed the guests.

All the teams which came to participate were introduced and Chandragupt Singh Chauhan introduced guests to all of the team members and explained the present status of association.

Baghram Vishnoi and Ranbeer Singh Jakhad, who represented India in International Events, were also honored in the ceremony.

Baghram bagged Bronze in South Korea (1997), Silver in China (1999) and had been Canoeing champion from 1993 to 2000.

Ranbeer was placed 4th in Asian Championship, Tokyo (1993) and Asian Games, Hiroshima, Japan (1994). He bagged Silver and Bronze in China (1995), Silver in South Korea (1997) and was National Champion in Kayaking from 1993 to 1999.

Ranbeer and Vagaram promised that they will find best talents in Rajasthan for the game and will polish them, so that they can win medals for the country.

Mukesh Bhargav, ADJ congratulated everyone for their involvement in this event, and said that it is a wonderful coordinated step to organize this event in Udaipur. He praised Pacific University for its crucial role and support in the game. Blaveer Singh Kushwaha even insisted on making Headquarter of Kayaking & Canoeing activities of Rajasthan in Udaipur.

Raghuveer Meena said that Chief Minister was also keen to come in the event but he was not able to do so because of the time constraints. He though wished good luck and praised the organizing team for this event.

Then after, a workshop for every Coach and Technician was organized to provide them with the set schedule, protocol and responsibilities.

From tomorrow the event will begin at 7.00 AM with the heat, semi-final and final of Male, Females, Junior Male & Females and Sub-Junior Male & Females. There are 6 lanes built in the lake, where in the middle would be the time keepers, to note the timing.
