IND vs AUS: Rohit and Virat Kohli’s Comeback Match Ends in Just 22 Balls After 7 Months

This was Rohit Sharma’s 500th international match for India

Udaipur, Oct 20: Indian cricket fans were eagerly waiting for the return of former captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. But both disappointed everyone with their poor performance in the first ODI against Australia in Perth. After seven months, they returned to international cricket but were dismissed within just 22 balls. Virat got out for zero, while Rohit scored only eight runs.

In this match, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and chose to bowl first — a decision that worked perfectly. India’s top three batsmen were dismissed for only 25 runs. So far, India has lost four wickets for 52 runs in 16.4 overs.

500th Match Ends in Disappointment

This was Rohit Sharma’s 500th international match for India. But his special day did not go well. Returning to ODI cricket after 224 days, Rohit stayed at the crease for only 16 minutes. He was caught by Josh Hazlewood in the slips. Rohit scored just 8 runs from 14 balls, hitting one four before getting out.

Virat and Gill Fail to Deliver

Virat Kohli also got out soon after Rohit. He was caught by Connolly off Mitchell Starc for a golden duck (zero). It was a big shock for Indian fans waiting to see him play after seven months. Captain Shubman Gill tried to steady the innings but could not do much. He scored only 10 runs from 18 balls, hitting two fours before getting out in the ninth over.
