Udaipur, Oct 30, 2025: Rohit Sharma has achieved a special milestone in his ODI career. He has become the number one batsman in ODIs for the first time. Rohit is also the oldest player to reach the top spot in the ICC ODI rankings. This is the first time in his 18-year ODI career that he has achieved this feat.

The ICC released the latest ODI rankings on Wednesday. Rohit Sharma has overtaken his teammate Shubman Gill to become the number one batsman. Rohit’s rating has reached 781 points, thanks to his strong performance in the recent ODI series against Australia.

World No.1 in ODIs

Rohit Sharma has made history by reaching the number one position in the ICC ODI rankings for the first time in his career. At 38, he has become the oldest player to achieve this milestone. Rohit is also the fifth Indian player to hold the top spot in the ODI rankings. So far, he has played 276 ODI matches.

Brilliant Form in Australia

Rohit performed strongly in the ODI series against Australia. He scored 73 runs in the second ODI in Adelaide and followed it up with an unbeaten 121 in Sydney, earning the Player of the Series award. He is now expected to feature in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa and New Zealand.
