ASIA CUP |  Abhishek Sharma and Hardik Pandya's injuries, Team India's Dillemma Before Historic Final

A nail biting finish to team India's Asia Cup campaign as they head into the much awaited historic finals ended with a touch of worry as both Abhishek and Hardik suffered from injuries...

Udaipur, Sept 27, 2025: The Indian team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, won a thrilling Super Over against Sri Lanka in the last Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Friday. This kept their winning streak alive in the tournament.

Even though India won, injuries have caused worry for the team. During the match, all-rounder Hardik Pandya and opener Abhishek Sharma got injured and left the field. Both players are important for the final against Pakistan.

Bowling Coach Gives Update

Indian bowling coach Morne Morkel gave an update on the injuries of Hardik Pandya and Abhishek Sharma. Speaking at the Dubai International Stadium, he said Abhishek is fine, and Hardik will be checked on Saturday. Both players had cramps during the second innings and left the field.

Player Injuries During the Match

Hardik Pandya seemed to have a left hamstring injury. He left the field after bowling the first over of Sri Lanka’s innings. In that over, he dismissed Kusal Mendis. Hardik did not return after the first over.

Abhishek Sharma had some discomfort in his right thigh during the ninth over. He left the field in the tenth over. Both players used ice to reduce cramps during the rest of the innings.

Recovery and Team Plan

Morne Morkel told reporters, "Both of them suffered cramps. We will check Hardik tonight and tomorrow morning. Abhishek is fine." He also said India will not train on Saturday, the day before the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan. Morkel added, "Rest is very important. Recovery started after the match. The best way is to sleep and rest. Hopefully, they will have a good night's sleep."
