Second Day of Tribal Sports Competition Ends on High Note

Athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, basketball, archery, hockey (Boys/Girls) and football matches were held at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium

 

Udaipur, November 16, 2024 - On the second day of the Tribal Sports Competition yesterday, events like athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, basketball, archery, hockey (boys/girls) and football matches were held at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium (Gandhi Ground). The games were being held under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Sports Council Jaipur and the Regional Sports Training Centre, Udaipur.

In the kho-kho competition, Kherwara secured first place and Nalapeepala second in the Boys category. In the Girls category, Madhuban Hostel took first place, followed by Bhomtawada in second place.

In kabaddi, the Boys category was won by Sports Academy, Khelgaon, while Padoona and Bhomtawada secured first and second positions respectively in the Girls category. In hockey, Madhuban Sports Hostel won first place and Bambora second in the Girls category, while Tribal Boys Hostel, Khelgaon won first place and Kaya second in the Boys category.

In basketball, the Girls category saw Madhuban Tribal Sports Hostel claim first place, with Fateh School Tribal Sports Hostel in second. In athletics, the results for the first position in Boys and Girls category respectively were as follows:

  • 100 meters: Jaysh and Himani Damor
  • 200 meters: Rohit and Poonam Meena
  • 400 meters: Bhimraj Khair and Anjali Meena
  • 800 meters: Rakesh Kumar and Kanchan Meena

The 4x100 meter relay was won by Bhimraj Khair.

According to District Sports Officer Dr Mahesh Paliwal, the Chief Guest of the event was Giteshree Malviya, Deputy Commissioner of the Regional Tribal Development Department. Also present were special guests former District Sports Officer Vikram Singh Chandel, Deputy District Education Officer Laxman Salvi as well as council trainers and physical education teachers.
