Udaipur Trio to Represent India at World Dragon Boat Event
Udaipur’s Nitin Bisht, Rakesh Kumar and Rudra Pratap Singh to participate in the 17th World Dragon Boat Championship at Bandenburg, Germany
Udaipur, July 14, 2025 - Three young athletes from Udaipur — Nitin Bisht, Rakesh Kumar and Rudra Pratap Singh Chauhan — have left for Bandenburg, Germany, to represent the Indian men’s team in the 17th World Dragon Boat Racing Championship, scheduled from July 14 to July 20.
Dr Hemraj Singh Choudhary, president of the Rajasthan Dragon Boat and Traditional Sports Association, informed that over the past three months, selection trials, training camps and consultations were held in Kerala, Bhopal, and Delhi. The three athletes outperformed in these and secured their places in the Indian team.
Dr Choudhary also highlighted that this is the first time three athletes from Udaipur have been selected together for a world-level competition. All three have been training from the Goverdhan Sagar Centre in Udaipur.
Bisht and Chauhan have previously won five gold, two silver and two bronze medals in inter-university kayaking competitions representing Mohanlal Sukhadia University.
