Virat Kohli Will 'Leave India' After Retirement
The player’s childhood coach has reportedly confirmed that Kohli will re-locate to London with family once his cricketing commitments are over
December 20, 2024 - Is Virat Kohli moving out of India to settle abroad? These speculations have been doing the rounds for the past few months, especially after the second child of the former India captain was born in the UK earlier this year. Well, that could be the case, according to Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma.
Sharma has reportedly confirmed that India’s ace cricketer will be to re-locating to the UK once he retires. He will move to settle down in London with wife Anushka Sharma, daughter Vamika and son Akaay. That is once his cricketing commitments are over.
In the past few years, Kohli has been found to be spending more of his time in London when he is not playing cricket. He reportedly owns a property in London and the family has been visiting the place very frequently since the birth of his son.
Sharma said to a media house, "Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket.”
The 36-year-old star player for India has already retired from the T20 International game. He continues to play Test cricket and ODIs. Although, there has been no talk about him retiring in the immediate future, the cricketer had earlier said in a conversation with RCB: "It's quite simple. I think as a sportsman, we do have an end-date to our careers. So I am just working backwards. I don't want to finish my career thinking 'oh, what if I have done this on that particular day' because I can't keep going on and on forever.
But, “Once I am done, I will be gone, you won't see me for a while. So I want to give it everything I have till the time I play, and that's the only thing that keeps me going," he had said.
