In a promising development for the chess fraternity, Udaipur's rising star, Vrishank Chauhan, is gearing up to represent Rajasthan in the upcoming Commonwealth Chess Championship scheduled to take place in Malaysia. At just 16 years old, Vrishank has already etched his name as the highest-rated player in the state with an impressive live rating of 2351.

Vrishank's journey to this prestigious event was paved with success, as he clinched victory in the National Junior Championship held in Pune back in 2022. Acknowledging his potential, Vikas Sahu, the Chess coach and development officer of Rajasthan State Chess, highlighted Vrishank's exceptional talent and dedication to the game.

Expressing his aspirations, Vrishank revealed his ambition to follow in the footsteps of renowned Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta, who has been a guiding light for many aspiring players. With dreams of attaining the Grandmaster title within the next two years and aiming to achieve the rank of International Master by the end of 2024.

Drawing inspiration from the legendary Vishwanathan Anand, Vrishank admires Anand's strategic prowess and hopes to emulate his moves on the chessboard. As he prepares to take on the challenge of the Commonwealth Chess Championship, Vrishank's journey serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for young chess enthusiasts across the nation.
