2025: Airlander 10, the Largest Airship with see through roof
Work has begun on creating the biggest airship in the world. This airship is being made by the British company Hybrid Air Vehicles. A vast number of people will be able to travel without harming the environment from one place to another. “Airlander 10” is the name of this airship. In fact, an airship is like a ball, lighter and less fuel-consuming than airplanes. It can navigate by itself in the air. Recently the pictures of the concept have been presented by Hybrid Air Vehicles. The interior, design, and elegance of the aeroplane were all displayed. The Airlander 10 has a length of 299 feet (91 metres) and a width of 112 feet (34 metres). It can accommodate up to 100 people at a time.
Airship's ceiling and floor will be made of transparent glass
Some sections of the ceiling, walls and floors of this airship have been made from transparent material. As a result, passengers on board will be able to enjoy a spectacular panorama of the sky and ground. Passengers will have to pay additional money to take advantage of this. According to the corporation, its airship will be operational by 2025. The British company intends to use these airships on a number of popular short-distance flight routes. Apart from ensuring that the travel is more comfortable that a normal airplane, the company claims that the carbon emission will be far lower, by approximately 50%.
Promise of pollution reduction and passenger comfort
Mike Durham, Technical Chief of Hybrid Air Vehicles, listed the various advantages of this airship at a Live Science conference. Reduction in carbon emmission was cited as the primary advantage. Once airborne, the quality of travel will be so much better that you'll want to stay longer. According to Durham, the aeroplane will generate far more green energy than a passenger plane. For it requires to blow a light fuel, known as Helium, into the air. To provide enough lift to their wings, aeroplanes, on the other hand, must create a lot of energy through their engines.
By 2030, we plan to release an updated version
Once the airship takes off in the air, four propellers at each corner of the aircraft provide enough energy to propel it forward. He said that in the first generation, two propellers will be based on kerosene-powered engines. Electric motors will power the remaining two propellers. This British business intends to introduce a fully electric version of the aeroplane by 2030. The airliner's electric motors will be powered by liquid hydrogen fuel cells rather than conventional batteries, according to the company's engineers. This battery has a higher energy storage capacity than the others.
Airlander 10 has a top speed of 130 kilometres per hour
The company said the hydrogen gas is light and combustible. As a result, cryogenic tankers will be placed at the aft of the airship. This gas will then be injected into the engine as fuel, where it will react with oxygen to generate energy. This airship's top speed will be 130 kilometres per hour. In most cases, it will be flown at a speed of 100 km/h. This airship has a range of 60 to 400 kilometres. This ship has the ability to land in a relatively short space. If there isn't enough space on land, it can potentially land on water.
