32 Airports Shut Until May 14
AAI has also announced temporary closure of 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs)
May 10, 2025 - The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and relevant aviation authorities have released a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) announcing the temporary shutdown of 32 airports across northern and western India. The closure is for all civil flight operations, effective from May 9 to 14, 2025, (which corresponds to 0529 IST on May15, 2025), owing to operational reasons.
As per a press release by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, all civil operations at the following airports will remain suspended:
- Adhampur
- Ambala
- Amritsar
- Awantipur
- Bathinda
- Bhuj
- Bikaner
- Chandigarh
- Halwara
- Hindon
- Jaisalmer
- Jammu
- Jamnagar
- Jodhpur
- Kandla
- Kangra (Gaggal)
- Keshod
- Kishangarh
- Kullu Manali (Bhuntar)
- Leh
- Ludhiana
- Mundra
- Naliya
- Pathankot
- Patiala
- Porbandar
- Rajkot (Hirasar)
- Sarsawa
- Shimla
- Srinagar
- Thoise
- Uttarlai
AAI has also announced temporary closure of 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs) owing to operational reasons and to ensure safety and minimise disruption. These 25 route segments will remain unavailable from ground level to unlimited altitude until 0529 IST on May 15, 2025.
Airlines and flight operators have been advised to plan alternate routings as per current air traffic advisories.
