US Charge d'Affaires ad Interim Patricia Lacina on her maiden trip to Udaipur
Patricia A. Lacina, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the United States of America to India is on a three day visit to Udaipur. Patricia is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service of the United States of America and falls under Counselor Class of Ministers. She arrived at the Dabok Airport on Saturday at 0815hrs and will fly back to New Delhi at 1520hrs on Monday.
The US Embassy in New Delhi has requested Z+ security for the visiting dignitary and the authorities at Udaipur have been asked to provide the necessary security arrangements for the CDA during her stay in Udaipur. Her three day itenary includes the regular sight seeing tours, all under Z+ security. She will be putting up at the Hotel Oberoi Udaivilas.
On her arrival at the Maharana Pratap Airport, Patricia was welcomed by the Deputy Director of Tourism Department Shikha Saxena along with other officers from various departments. The Superintendent of Police Udaipur, IPS Vikas Kumar Sharma has been given the responsibility of providing Z+ security to the visitor, while Shikha Sakena has been appointed by the District Collector to coordinate and conduct the visit.
Shikha Saxena, in her conversation with UdaipurTimes, gave a brief on Patricia's first day interaction with the officers and her visit around Udaipur. Patricia enquired about the food, culture, handicrafts and demography of Udaipur and as per Shikha, was mesmerized with the beauty that Udaipur had to offer. Patricia was escorted to Sajjangarh from where she got a bird's eye view of the city of lakes and said that before her visit, she had only heard of Pichhola but in a day, but on her first day tour itself, found the city a lot more enticing. Patricia will enjoy a boat ride at Fatehsagar on Sunday.
After a tour of the toursit spots, Patricia enjoyed a shopping visit at the Anavaran Boutique near Hotel Saheli Palace. Patricia, in her interaction with Shikha, also expressed interest in the upcoming World Music Festival at Udaipur and indicated that this event could result in her second visit to Udaipur.
With news of the G20 Summit Sherpa meeting scheduled to be held in Udaipur doing the rounds, personal and official visits from such dignitaries could become the order for the day for the City of Lakes.

Patricia Lacina served as Consul General at the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany from July 2018 to July 2021. From 2015 to 2017, she served as Principal Deputy Executive Secretary in the Office of the Secretary of State. Patricia’s overseas assignments include Management Officer in Cairo, Deputy Director of Frankfurt’s Regional Support Center, and Director of Human Resources in both Vienna and Brussels. She has also visited Buenos Aires, Nairobi, Moscow, Bogota, and Mexico City in her official capacity. Domestically, she also served in the Bureau of International Organizations Affairs as the Office Director of Global Systems. Patricia holds a B.A. in Special Education and Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.A. in International Affairs from California State University at Sacramento.
