Air India Expands Flights in Northeast for Winter Schedule
November 25,2024 - Air India has announced the addition of more flights in its winter schedule to enhance connectivity from northeastern cities like Guwahati, Agartala, and Imphal. This initiative aims to improve access to and from the northeastern region, catering to both domestic and international travelers.The new schedule includes increased frequency of flights to major cities, ensuring better travel options during the busy winter season.
From Guwahati - Air India Express will operate 106 weekly flights, up from 63 last winter. The flights connect directly to eight cities: Jaipur, Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Imphal, and Kolkata. There is also one-stop connectivity to 18 other domestic cities and six international destinations.
From Imphal - The airline has increased weekly flights to 34, compared to 14 last winter.
From Agartala - Since September 2024, Air India Express has increased flights from 14 to 21 weekly. These flights connect directly to Guwahati and Kolkata.
Air India's Chief Commercial Officer, Ankur Garg, said this expansion will make travel easier for people visiting the Northeast. It also strengthens Guwahati's importance as a key travel hub.
