As of this week, travellers can now enjoy the convenience of direct flights connecting Udaipur with both Surat and Rajkot, thanks to Indigo Airlines. These new flight routes have been eagerly awaited by both locals and tourists alike. The flights’ inaugural arrivals were greeted with a ceremonial water salute at Udaipur's airport, marking the significance of this expansion in air travel options. One can't overlook the notable influx of tourists from Gujarat to Udaipur on a monthly basis. Whether it is for leisurely exploration of Udaipur's rich history and scenic beauty, or for bustling business ventures, people from Gujarat frequently travel to this picturesque city. Up until now, the only city benefiting from direct flights on a consistent basis was Ahmedabad, with flights operating five days every week.

However, the recent introduction of flights between Surat and Rajkot to Udaipur is poised to make a substantial impact. This development carries promising implications for both the tourism industry and the business community. Tourists seeking to explore Udaipur will travel directly from Surat and Rajkot. On the other hand, business professionals will benefit from increased accessibility, making their trips for meetings and transactions more efficient.

Around two years ago, the Udaipur-Surat flight route was inaugurated, marking a notable addition to the city's air connectivity. However, it's worth mentioning that the recent commencement of direct flights to Rajkot is a first-time occurrence. These flights, which are operational every day of the week, promise a convenient travel option for passengers. The flight duration to both Surat and Rajkot is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, further enhancing the appeal of these routes.

Currently, Udaipur offers a total of 8 flight connections to 18 different cities. Notably, there are 5 flights available for Delhi and Mumbai each, while single flights are scheduled for Ahmedabad, Indore, Bhopal, Jaipur, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. This increased connectivity is expected to facilitate smoother travel experiences and foster greater ease in reaching various destinations from Udaipur.

• Udaipur-Rajkot: 6E 7425: Departure in the morning at 10:15 from Udaipur and arrival at Rajkot at 11:35.

• Surat-Udaipur: 6E 7429: Departure in evening at 4:20 from Surat and arrival in Udaipur at 5:35.

• Udaipur-Surat: 6E 7431: Departure in the evening at 5:55 from Udaipur and arrival in Surat at 7:35.
