Electrification Work Progressing Rapidly on Udaipur to Ahmedabad Railway Line
Western Railways electrification work between Ahmedabad and Himmatnagar is also progressing at a similar pace
Electrification work on the Udaipur to Ahmedabad broad gauge railway line is moving swiftly, with approximately 100 kilometers from Dungarpur to Himmatnagar expected to be completed by June 15, 2024. Workers are putting in round-the-clock efforts, with about 30 percent of the work already accomplished.
Udaipur to Dungarpur Electrification Completed
The electrification work from Udaipur to Dungarpur has been successfully completed, with electric engines already operational on this stretch. Under the North Western Railway, the electrification project from Dungarpur to Himmatnagar is progressing rapidly, marked by the installation of pillars along the entire route.
Overcoming Technical Challenges
Despite encountering technical difficulties at some locations, the project is advancing steadily. Small remaining tasks are being addressed under the supervision of senior engineers.
Inspection Anticipated
Railway sources indicate that due to the rapid pace of work, inspections by senior officials from Delhi related to electrification are expected soon. Following these inspections, the line will undergo thorough examination, with the possibility of electric engines operating on the line by June 15.
Progress on Ahmedabad to Himmatnagar Route
Western Railways electrification work between Ahmedabad and Himmatnagar is also progressing at a similar pace. Pillars have been erected from Asarwa to Himmatnagar, with wiring completed in most areas. The final phases of the TSS (Traction Sub Station) and SSP (Sectioning Switch Post) work are underway.
