Saudi Arabia has announced that it has plans of opening to foreign tourists soon, a senior tourism official informed after Saudi Arabia announced the lifting of quarantine restrictions for certain foreign arrivals.
Non-citizens from certain countries who are fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 would no longer be quarantined in designated government hotels.
The new measures apply only to residents, government officials, business travelers, or those who are visiting family and friends. The Saudi Tourism Authority also said that the reopening will happen very soon but the exact date has not yet been announced.
Saudi Arabia liberalised its tourism industry in 2019, making it easier for foreigners to apply for tourist visas to the kingdom that had been relatively closed off for decades.
