Indian Railways has rolled out a significant upgrade to its ticketing system aimed at improving passenger convenience. As per media sources, passengers are now able to buy unreserved tickets and platform tickets using the mobile app from any station, eliminating distance restrictions and making ticket booking from home more convenient.

Previously, passengers were limited to booking tickets within a 50-kilometer radius of their current location. This restriction has now been eliminated, allowing passengers to book tickets without any geographical limitations. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria states that this initiative is aimed at simplifying the ticket booking process and improving accessibility for passengers. Passengers can avoid waiting in long queues at ticket counters by conveniently purchasing their tickets online through the UTS mobile app. The UTS mobile app, known for its simple and user-friendly interface, is gaining popularity among railway passengers, especially those who regularly use local trains or require unreserved tickets.

Indian Railways is embracing digitalization and improving passenger convenience by removing distance limitations. This initiative is expected to encourage more people to opt for the UTS mobile app for ticket bookings, thus reducing the inconvenience of queuing for long periods.
