Indian Railways is on the brink of conducting trials for its forthcoming project, an enhanced train aimed at providing an improved travel experience for the common passengers. This innovative train, currently under production at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, will introduce upgraded second-class 3-tier sleeper coaches and second-class unreserved coaches. While the train's official name is still pending, it is expected to incorporate some of the premium features reminiscent of the successful Vande Bharat Express. 

Comprising a total of 22 coaches, this upcoming train will consist of 8 General Second Class coaches, 12 non-AC sleeper cars, and 2 luggage-cum-guard vans. What sets this train apart are its superior interiors, specially designed to enhance both passenger safety and comfort. These upgraded interiors will feature amenities such as improved gangways, semi-permanent couplers, destination boards, and various other passenger-friendly enhancements. 

A key feature of the upcoming train is its quest for higher speed and operational efficiency, achieved through the utilization of the push-pull method employed by Indian Railways. This method involves the use of two locomotives, one positioned at each end of the train, to enhance propulsion and control. To enable this operational approach, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) is in the process of manufacturing two WAP5 locomotives. These locomotives are designed with aerodynamic features to optimize speed and performance. In contrast, the Vande Bharat Express is distinct as it operates as a self-propelled train set, reducing the need for locomotives at either end.
