Udaipur, December 3,2024 - The 18th Kumbhalgarh Festival, organized by the state government, has begun with a massive influx of tourists. The three-day festival celebrates Rajasthan's rich historical and cultural heritage, attracting visitors from all over.

Grand Opening at Kumbhalgarh Fort

The festival kicked off with a grand opening at the beautifully decorated Kumbhalgarh Fort. In the evening, the audience was welcomed by the soothing sound of the violin. Pandit Kailash Chandra Mothia and Yogesh Chandra Mothia performed Raga Jog and Raga Durga, creating a magical atmosphere. The event ended with a patriotic rendition of "Vande Mataram."

Day Two Highlights

On the second day, the audience was captivated by the powerful voices of Jeevan Nath and his Langa party from Jodhpur. They performed folk songs like Chhap Tilak Sab Cheeni, Nimbuda Nimbuda, and Kesariya Baalma. The Lal Aangi Gair dance by Parsmal and Party from Barmer energized the crowd with its lively rhythm. Durga Shankar and his party from Chittorgarh entertained with their Baharupiya performance, showcasing Rajasthan's cultural diversity.

Rajasthan's Folk Arts on Display

Throughout the festival, Rajasthan’s traditional dances and folk arts are on full display at the fort complex. Dances like Kacchi Ghodi, Kalbeliya, Ghoomar, and Chakkari have been a big hit with tourists. Competitions like Safabandhan, Rangoli Mandana, and Rassakashi have also added to the excitement, with winners being rewarded by the Tourism Department.

Festival Involvement and Key Figures

Many tourists, both domestic and foreign, are actively participating in the event, dancing and enjoying the performances. Important officials such as Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Shikha Saxena and Vivek Joshi, Assistant Director, were present at the festival. Shikha Saxena highlighted that the festival not only celebrates Rajasthan’s culture but also helps connect tourists to the state's rich art and music.

Final Day of the Festival

On the third and final day, December 3, Barkha Joshi and her group will present Kathak and folk singing, while Mohit Gangwani and his group will perform tabla music. From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, there will be competitions like Pagdi Bandho, Rangoli, and folk dance, bringing tourists closer to Rajasthani culture. The festival to conclude on the night of December 3,2024.
