Lion Safari's Pathway Developed at Sajjangarh

Udaipur, March 13, 2025 - Tourists visiting Udaipur will soon be able to see lions up close at the Sajjangarh Sanctuary. The Forest Department has officially announced the launch of the Lion Safari. A lion pair, Samrat and Sunayana, will be seen roaming freely in the sanctuary. Along with this, a new Reptile House will also be opened for visitors.
Safari Pathway Developed Over 20 Hectares
A special pathway covering 20 hectares has been developed for the Lion Safari. Tourists will be able to see lions roaming freely and take photos and videos. The safari has been built with an investment of Rs 3.45 crore. The project was delayed earlier, affecting tourism, but now it is finally set to open.
Major Boost for Tourism
Every year, around 15 to 20 lakh tourists visit Udaipur. Many of them explore Sajjangarh Sanctuary after seeing other attractions in the city. With Rajasthan’s second Lion Safari and the state’s first Reptile House, Udaipur's tourism industry is expected to get a major boost.
Reptile House to Feature Rare Species
Along with the Lion Safari, the Reptile House will also be a major attraction. It will have various species of snakes, turtles, and other reptiles. The Forest Department has approved its inauguration, and visitors will be able to see these creatures safely in glass enclosures.
