360-Km Track of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Complete: Vaishnaw
Work on Maharashtra section is progressing rapidly and construction of a two-kilometre tunnel under the sea is complete, says Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw
March 3, 2025 – Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the 360-kilometre work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project has been completed. Efforts are being made to cover the two-and-a-half-year delay in the project, the Minister assured, while carrying out an inspection of the Ahmedabad railway station and the high-speed rail station for the bullet train in Anand on March 1.
The total length of the bullet train project is 508 kilometres. Vaishnaw informed that because the train will run at a speed of 350 kilometres per hour, it will create a pressure environment around it. Therefore, special attention is being paid to the construction of the stations. The roofs of the stations are being built using special technology. Work is progressing rapidly on the stations, tracks and tunnels.
Work on the Maharashtra section is progressing rapidly and the construction of a two-kilometre tunnel under the sea is complete, the Minister said. He added that the redevelopment project of Ahmedabad station project will be completed in four years, although the target is three-and-a-half years.
