To manage the Diwali and Chhath Puja crowd, Western Railway (WR) has temporarily banned platform tickets at six major stations in Gujarat.
Stations Affected
- Ahmedabad (Kalupur)
- Sabarmati
- Asarva
- Vadodara
- Bharuch
- Chhayapuri
Purpose of the Ban
From October 27 to November 6, only passengers with valid travel tickets can access the platforms. This measure aims to:
- Reduce overcrowding at stations
- Streamline the flow of passengers
- Ensure safer and smoother travel for everyone
Exemptions in Place
WR has exempted senior citizens and passengers with medical needs from the platform ticket restriction, ensuring those requiring additional assistance can still access the platforms.
Duration of Restrictions
The restriction at stations in the Ahmedabad division will last until November 6. However, Vadodara, Bharuch, and Chhayapuri stations will enforce the ban until November 10 to further control the festive rush.
