Road Transport Officer, Rajasthan has declared that under no circumstances will pre-wedding shoots be permitted in boats in Udaipur. These directions are in cognizance of the Rajasthan Boating Act 1956, which attempts to prevent any activities that could lead to boat accidents in lakes.

Additionally, no boats that are not complaint to Euro - 6 norms will be permitted in the lakes in the state.

The declaration was given in a meeting held today 7 July under the chair of the state Road Transport Officer. The agenda of the meeting included boat licenses, and boat fitness. RTO said that fitness certificates and licences will be given only to boats with Euo-6 compliance, in order to promote environment friendly tourism, noise pollution and lake conservation.

Boating permission will be given only during daylight hours. No boating will be allowed before sunrise OR after sunset. In case of exceptional circumstances permission will be granted only FOR ONE BOAT to ply in non sunlight hours. Further, a seven day licence will be permitted to boats that are plying on routes where no other mode of transport is possible.

RTO also gave instructions on the management and operations of rescue boats.
