The Indian Railways has taken a significant step toward enhancing passenger convenience by introducing QR codes at 116 locations across 91 stations in the Ajmer railway division. This digital initiative is aimed at simplifying the ticketing process, making it easier for passengers to purchase both reserved and unreserved tickets through quick, contactless payments.

Prominent stations like Udaipur and Ajmer now feature dedicated windows specifically for QR code payments. Passengers can scan the code using their smartphones to pay instantly, reducing the need for cash transactions and speeding up the overall process. This move is part of the Railways broader push to encourage digital payments and offer a seamless travel experience.

A railway spokesperson mentioned that this new QR code payment system has been introduced at unreserved ticket counters across the Ajmer division, and passengers have already started using the facility for ticket purchases. By adopting this system, the Railways aims to reduce congestion at ticket counters and promote a more efficient and user-friendly experience for all travellers.
