Udaipur Railway Station Gets Rs 354-Cr Makeover
Major upgrade for Udaipur City Station underway with food court, executive lounge and parking
Udaipur, July 9, 2025 – Get ready for a blend of modern infrastructure and royal charm -right here in the heart of Udaipur, at the railway station!
Udaipur City railway station is getting a major facelift under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. With a massive investment of Rs 354 crore, the station is being transformed into a world-class travel hub. The structural work at both entry gates is already done and final touches are in full swing.
A total of 43,000 square metres has been earmarked for commercial activities.
The redevelopment plan integrates Mewar heritage with modern design elements. The main entrance building (west side) and the secondary entrance building (east side) have both had their structural work (framework) completed. Finishing work is ongoing.
The main entrance building is being built over an area of approximately 6,000 square metres and will be a G+3 (Ground plus 3 floors) structure. Similarly, the secondary entrance building is also being constructed as a G+3 structure over about 5,800 square metres.
In the basement, finishing work on the parking area is in progress. A total of 11,500 square metres across both entry points is being developed for parking facilities.
For commercial development 43,000 square metres of space has been designated. This will include:
- Food court over 900 square metres
- Kiosks over 560 square metres of the concourse area
- Kiosks over 268 square metres in other locations
- Executive lounge over 180 square metres
