Udaipur: Railways Resume Passenger Ticket Services
Easing Travel Amidst Pandemic...
In a move aimed at providing much-needed relief to local train commuters, the railways have resumed passenger ticket services, effective from March 3, 2024. This decision comes as a welcome change for passengers who have faced escalated fares during the pandemic, where local trains were charging the fare equivalent to mail express trains.
Monthly Passes for Udaipur Employment Commuters at Reduced Cost
Notably, the railways have introduced a cost-effective solution for individuals commuting to Udaipur for employment from nearby areas. Monthly passes will now be available at a lower cost, ensuring greater convenience for those relying on local trains for daily travel.
Substantial Fare Reduction in Key Routes
Among the key routes benefiting from this initiative are Chittorgarh Asarwa-Chittorgarh Demo, Badi Sadadi-Udaipur-Badi Sadadi, Udaipur-Chittorgarh-Udaipur, and Udaipur-Mandsaur-Udaipur.
The Mavli Mail Express, which previously charged Rs 30, will now offer passenger train tickets at only Rs 10, marking a significant reduction in fare. Similarly, the Mail Express ticket to Chittorgarh, previously priced at Rs 55, has been reduced to a more affordable Rs 25 for passenger trains.
Relief for Commuters and Local Businesses
This move is expected to bring relief to commuters who have been grappling with increased travel costs during the pandemic. The revised ticket prices for local trains aim to facilitate smoother and more economical travel for passengers, fostering a positive impact on the local economy.
