Rajasthan's New Tourism Policy Offers Land and Long-Term Licenses

Tourism businesses like hotels and restaurants will now get a 10-year licence

December 4,2024 - The Rajasthan government has introduced a new policy to promote tourism. The policy is designed to make it easier to start and run tourism businesses. It is expected to help Rajasthan’s growing tourism industry.

Government Land for Big Projects
If a business invests Rs 100 crore or more in a tourism project, they can now get government land for the project. If there is government land next to their project, they can buy 10% of their project’s land size at lower rates (agricultural or residential rates).

Tourism businesses like hotels and restaurants will now get a 10-year licence (instead of choosing between 1 or 10 years earlier). Also, a fire safety certificate (NOC) valid for 3 years (it used to be for 1 year).

The Policy Includes Many New Tourism-Related Businesses Like

  • Eco-tourism units

  • Film cities

  • Heritage restaurants

  • Resorts and motels

  • Tourism startups

  • Rural tourism projects

Excitement Around Bar Licences
Heritage restaurants are expected to get cheaper bar licences, which is great news for them.

Why is it a Big Deal?

  • Senior industry leaders believe this will energize the tourism sector.

  • It supports Rajasthan's status as a major tourist destination by making investments and compliance easier.
