Ranthambore National Park attracts many tourists from across the nation. The Forest Department has planned to promote Palighat which is a new wildlife tourist destination near Ranthambore National park. Both tiger safari and boat safaris are offered by the department.
This has been done in regards to enhancing the tourist experience. Recently, the department has deployed 32 high-quality boats. Palighat is approximately an hour drive from Ranthambore. The officials have received a revenue of Rs 3 lakh from boat safaris at Palighat. A conference was held in which it was discussed that tourists who book both the safaris will get a discount. Also, a conservation plan has been launched for nine species of turtles and their nesting habitats along the Chambal riverbank ain Sawai Madhopur and Dholpur District, an Official added.
“The Chambal safari at Palighat is gaining momentum, and plans are underway to offer a combo-ticketing package for Palighat and Ranthambore. Tourists who book both safaris will receive a discount.” - A top forest official
Chambal has huge potential to be the most preferred destination for wildlife tourists, a wildlife enthusiast said.
“Rajasthan has more to offer than its tigers. The gharial is among the largest of the crocodiles and can grow up to more than four meters in length. It has an unmistakable elongated snout, and its unique characteristics can attract thousands of wildlife tourists.” - Rahul Sharma, a wildlife enthusiast.
“Due to its convenient location near Sawai Madhopur and the established tourist traffic to Ranthambore, the river section between Palighat and Rameshwarghat in Sawai Madhopur has the potential to become a natural hotspot for development.” - Senior Official.
