RSRDC Introduces FASTag Toll Collection on Rajasthan State Highways
The Rajasthan State Road Development Corporation (RSRDC) is set to introduce a FASTag-based toll collection system on state highways to reduce congestion at toll plazas and streamline cashless payments. At a recent RSRDC board meeting, Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari directed officials to expedite the implementation of the FASTag system at all toll booths.
This initiative aims to minimize lengthy queues and improve the efficiency of toll operations across the state. Exempted vehicles will continue to enjoy the same benefits under this new system.
She also instructed them to conduct a survey and prepare a report on developing amenities like restaurants, washrooms, and other facilities at toll plazas.
The RSRDC has partnered with the Indian Highway Management Corporation Ltd (IHMCL) to implement this new toll collection system. Motorists will not need to affix new stickers on their vehicles, as the toll will be automatically deducted using the existing FASTag sticker on their windshields.
A FASTag command center has been established at the RSRDC headquarters in Hasanpura to monitor all FASTag-based toll plazas in real time, with CCTV cameras providing live feeds to the center.
