The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has revealed plans to launch a new bus service to Ayodhya, slated to commence this upcoming weekend.  RSRTC has meticulously structured the fare system for the Ayodhya-bound buses, ensuring accessibility and affordability for passengers. Officials said CM Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will start the service, but the final date confirmation is still pending from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

The new bus service encompasses seven major divisions within Rajasthan, namely Udaipur, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Kota and Bikaner. The fare varies across the seven divisions, with the lowest starting at Rs 836 from Bharatpur and the highest at Rs 1,480 from Udaipur. Notably, the Jaipur-Ayodhya route will offer tickets priced at Rs 1,079.  Officials think that the service will start on February 9 or 10, 2024.

"We are going to run 14 services, two each from the seven divisions of the state. To begin with, there will be one service from each division." RSRTC managing director Nathman Didel said.

"Once we get route permits, we will start the second service. Once the CMO confirms the date for flag-off, we will start bookings for the inaugural service." Nathman Didel said.

The bus leaving Jaipur will depart at 1:15 PM and arrive in Ayodhya at 6:30 AM the following day. On the way back, the service from Ayodhya will begin at 11:30 AM and reach Jaipur at 4:45 AM the next day. During the journey, there will be three stops at Agra, Lucknow and Faizabad.

"For now, there will be 34-seater non- AC super express buses. Later, we may switch to AC buses depending on the demand." added Didel.
