The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia has commenced issuing Umrah visas for the upcoming post-Hajj season, starting in conjunction with the new Islamic year on Muharram 1, 1446 AH, which is expected to begin on July 7, 2024. This announcement aims to facilitate pilgrims wishing to perform the minor pilgrimage at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

According to the Saudi Press Agency report on June 20, 2024, individuals holding any type of visa are now eligible to undertake the Umrah pilgrimage. This inclusive approach by the ministry is intended to ensure that pilgrims can perform Umrah seamlessly from any location, regardless of their visa type.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that all visa categories, including personal, family, transit, labour, and e-visas, permit participation in Umrah rituals at the Grand Mosque.
Visa Accessibility
Travellers can also obtain visas upon arrival, provided they hold a valid Schengen visa that has been used at least once. This visa allows for a 90-day stay within a 365-day validity period.
Use of Nusuk Application
To streamline the journey for Umrah pilgrims, the Saudi ministry encourages the use of the Nusuk application for acquiring Umrah permits. Pilgrims are advised to adhere to designated timings for rituals at the Grand Mosque to ensure a convenient and trouble-free experience.

Saudi Arabia offers a variety of visas, including tourist visas for leisure trips, business visas for work-related visits, transit visas for travellers passing through, and family visit visas for those visiting resident family members, among others.
