Udaipur Airport Increases Winter Flights
Increase in passenger load in June and July at Maharana Pratap Airport...
Starting October 27, 2024, Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur will implement its winter schedule, running until March 29 next year.
In this new schedule, Udaipur will see an increase from 17 to 28 flights connecting to 8 major cities. This includes the introduction of Akasa Air flights between Udaipur and Mumbai for the first time.
These 28 flights will connect Udaipur to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bhopal, Indore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru. Although the number of flights is increasing, no new cities have been added to the connectivity list.
Winter Schedule Compared to Summer Schedule
There will be 11 more flights in the winter schedule compared to the summer schedule. Flights to Delhi will increase from 6 to 10, and flights between Udaipur and Mumbai will go from 5 to 7. Indigo will operate all three flights to Jaipur. Out of the 28 flights, 22 will be regular, while 6 will operate only on certain days of the week.
Increase in Passenger Load
In July, Maharana Pratap Airport saw a significant increase in passengers, with 121,185 travellers, up by 8,314 from June. The passenger load in June was 112,871.
Airport Director Yogesh Nagaich reported an increase in aircraft movements from 1,061 in June to 1,105 in July. In July, 553 aircraft arrived in Udaipur and 552 departed.
During July, 61,637 passengers arrived, and 59,548 departed. The increase in passenger load was partly due to the monsoon season. Last July, the passenger load was 106,254. An increase in passengers is also expected in August. March recorded the highest number of air travellers this year, with 150,996 passengers arriving and departing.
