Udaipur Airport Upgraded to APD Grade 2 Station

Udaipur, January 22, 2025 - Udaipur Airport has been upgraded to an APD (Air Passenger Duty) Grade 2 station, which will now be operated at the General Manager level. Udaipur Airport has earned another achievement by securing 3rd place among 62 airports in India, as ranked by the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Previously categorized as a Grade 3 station (Joint GM level), it has now been upgraded to a Grade 2 station. Airports in Surat, Bhopal, Madurai, Agartala, and Vijayawada were also upgraded to Grade 2.
Reason for the Upgrade
The upgrade is due to a steady increase in air traffic and passenger volume at Udaipur Airport. Last year, the airport handled approximately 14.48 lakh passengers and recorded 15,221 aircraft movements.
Improved Passenger Facilities
To accommodate the growing demand, the airport has introduced several new facilities:
-
Renovated restrooms for a better experience.
-
Additional chairs and sofa sets with mobile charging points.
-
A "Bal Chaupal" children’s play area to entertain young travelers.
