Udaipur, also known as Lake City, has been recognized as one of the top travel destinations in India. The online travel portal Thrillophilia recently released a list of the 30 best cities in the country to visit in September. 

Udaipur secured the 5th position, while Jaipur was ranked 20th. The list also highlighted Kerala as the most featured state, with three cities making it to the top 30. Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Tamil Nadu each had two cities on the list. 

The tourist season in Udaipur will officially begin on September 27, coinciding with Tourism Day. The city, located in the southern part of Rajasthan and surrounded by the Aravalli mountain range, is famous for its natural beauty. Founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II, Udaipur was the capital of the Mewar Kingdom.

In another achievement, Udaipur's Lake Pichola has been ranked 28th among the 48 most beautiful lakes in the world by the prestigious portal Condé Nast Traveler. It is the only lake from India to make it to the list.

Udaipur is well-connected to other parts of India by air, rail, and road, making it an accessible destination for tourists. Popular attractions include Lake Pichola, City Palace, Eklingji Temple, Ambrai Ghat, the Vintage Car Museum, and Shilpgram. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as trekking, cycling, tours, and helicopter rides in the surrounding hilly areas. Boating on Lake Pichola and Lake Fatehsagar, especially at sunset, adds a special charm to the visit.
