Udaipur City Railway Station Ranks Fourth in Revenue Among North-Western Railway Zone

Udaipur Railway Station: The daily footfall at City Railway Station exceeds 20,000 passengers.

 

Udaipur: Udaipur City Railway Station has made significant strides in both train arrivals and revenue generation. During the financial year 2023-24, the station gained a revenue of Rs 138 crore, securing the fourth position among the top 5 stations in the North-Western Railway Zone.

In the expansive North-Western Railway Zone, consisting of 578 stations, a list of the top 15 revenue-generating stations has been unveiled. Jaipur clinched the top spot, earning Rs 776 crore, followed by Jodhpur and Ajmer at second and third positions with Rs 312 crore and Rs 308 crore respectively. Udaipur City stood fourth with Rs 138 crore, closely followed by Bikaner Junction at fifth with earnings of Rs 129 crore. This revenue solely stems from ticket sales at reservation and ticket counters. Bandikui Jn. stands at the bottom of the list, earning a revenue of Rs 35.44 crore.

Passengers Footfall

Udaipur City is famous worldwide and attracts thousands of lakhs every month. With such popularity, it is no surprise that the railway station sees a large number of travellers. Additionally, many people visit the city for business purposes as well.

The daily footfall at City Railway Station exceeds 20,000 passengers, resulting in a daily revenue ranging from Rs 35 to 40 lakh. This revenue is generated through various channels, including reservation counters, ticket counters, online ticket purchases, and pass holders.

Udaipur City Development Project

Currently, Udaipur City Railway Station is undergoing redevelopment, further enhancing its infrastructure. Moreover, in the past two years, the station has witnessed the commencement of approximately 7 new trains. The coming days hold promise for the introduction of more new trains, which is anticipated to further boost the station's revenue.

Among the top 15 revenue-generating stations in the North-Western Railway Zone, besides Udaipur City, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer, Bikaner, Abu Road, Rewari Jn., Ringas Jn., Alwar Jn., Shri Ganganagar, Bhilwara, Hisar Jn., Falna, Gandhinagar Jaipur, and Bandikui Jn. are included.
