The tourism department has recently initiated an online campaign to promote Udaipur as a solo traveling destination. Amidst this, Udaipur has gained recognition in this category, securing a prominent position. The American travel portal, Travel and Leisure, has ranked Udaipur as the 9th best solo destination in India for the year 2024. In addition to this, the state's Jaisalmer has secured the second position in the list.

Udaipur, known for its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage, has become a focal point for solo travelers. The tourism department's efforts to showcase the city's unique attractions and create a conducive environment for solo exploration have contributed to this achievement.

The online campaign initiated by the tourism department aims to highlight Udaipur's solo-friendly features, encouraging more travelers to explore the city independently. The recognition by Travel and Leisure further validates Udaipur's appeal as a top destination for solo travelers in India.

The travel portal states that Udaipur is among the 15 cities in India considered as excellent destinations for solo adventure trips. The portal describes Udaipur as one of the best places for solo travel in the country. Nestled amidst the Aravalli Mountains, Udaipur captivates with its architectural beauty. A magical scene unfolds during sunset with a boat ride on the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola. The best time to explore the city is between September and March.

It is worth mentioning that the tourism department has launched an online campaign to promote Udaipur, along with Pushkar and Mount Abu, as premier solo traveling destinations. 

Udaipur has previously been honored with a similar award for solo traveling. In 2023, Travel and Leisure ranked the city 11th in the solo women travel category. In 2022, the Tour and Travel company, Travel Triangle, designated Udaipur as the third safest city in the country for solo female travelers in the Best Solo Female Destination category. Shikha Saxena, the Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, highlighted the increasing trend of solo traveling among the youth, emphasizing that Udaipur is a secure destination, even for solo female travelers.
