Udaipur-Mandsaur Train Returns to Passenger Service
Udaipur, November 26,2024 - Starting January 1,2025 the Udaipur-Mandsaur train will no longer operate as a special train. The Indian Railways has decided to revert it back to its original status as a passenger train. The train's new number will be 59835/59836. The shift from a special train to a passenger train comes after a reduction in the minimum fare earlier this year.
No Change in Fare
The minimum fare for the train was reduced from Rs 30/- to Rs 10/- in March 2024. There will be no change in the fare despite the train's reversion to passenger service.
Background During COVID-19
During the COVID-19 period in 2020, the Udaipur-Madar passenger train, along with other trains, was converted into a mail express train. This resulted in a change of train number to 19606, and the minimum fare increased to Rs 30/-.
Despite the fare increase, the train's speed, stops, timing, and other facilities remained similar to those of a passenger train. However, it was charged at express train rates. Now, with the change back to a passenger train, the fare will stay at Rs 10/-.
