Nagar Van to Bring Jungle Experience to Urban Area
A new tourist attraction in Udaipur...
The Forest Department has initiated the development of Nagar Van, adding to the attractions for both residents and tourists. Situated adjacent to Dudhatalai's Luvkush Vatika, these two areas will be separated by a wall. While Luvkush Vatika will offer various activities for children, Nagar Van promises the thrill of a jungle experience within the urban landscape.
Progress on the city forest is already significant, with about 70% of the work completed on the route connecting Dudhatalai to Sisarma. Forester Ravindra Singh revealed that the proposal for Nagar Van was made approximately four years ago.
The development includes amenities such as huts, bridges, and a new track for visitors to enjoy. Moreover, a 7-kilometer-long hiking track has been prepared, offering an exciting outdoor adventure.
Spanning across 50 hectares, the upcoming park will offer breathtaking views of Pichola Lake from its viewpoint. Visitors can also capture memorable moments at the designated selfie point near the old quarry.
In consideration of wildlife, water holes have been constructed in the forest section to cater to species like sloth bears, whose daily movements can be observed. Additionally, various other wildlife species are often spotted in the area.
Entry into Nagar Van will incur a nominal fee of Rs 20/- per person. For children visiting the kids' zone at Luvkush Vatika, the fee is set at Rs 10/- per child. Students will be charged a similar fee of Rs 10/- for entry into Nagar Van, Luvkush Vatika, and Eklinggarh Fort. Notably, entry to Luvkush Vatika will be free from 5:00 to 10:00 in the morning to accommodate nearby residents who come for walks.
Luvkush Vatika, established last year, boasts a dedicated children's park and 22 rainwater harvesting structures for environmental sustainability. Spread over approximately 35 hectares, it also features a hanging bridge, adding to the recreational opportunities for visitors.
