Vande Bharat Express mirrors other trains in speed

What purpose does this high-speed train serve if its speed matches with normal trains?

The Vande Bharat Express, operating between Udaipur and Jaipur, maintains a speed comparable to other trains. However, this has resulted in a significant increase in the travel time. While the train is designed to run at 130 kms per hour, its current speed from Udaipur to Ajmer is only 110 kms per hour. The speed picks up to 130 kms per hour for the journey beyond Ajmer.

The Vande Bharat train operates six days a week, departing from Udaipur to Jaipur at 7:50 AM and arriving in Jaipur by 2:05 PM. Similarly, it leaves Jaipur at 3:45 PM, returning to Udaipur and reaching there by 10:00 PM. Covering an approximate distance of 400 kms, the train completes the journey in about six and a half hours. Currently, the train is running at a speed of 110 kms per hour, although it is designed to run at 130 kms per hour. The slower pace is causing the train to take more time for the journey.

Running the Vande Bharat Express at a speed of 130 kms per hour between Udaipur and Jaipur has the potential to save passengers around one and a half to two hours of travel time. The train can truly deliver its intended benefits to passengers only when it operates at this higher speed.
