These recently introduced trains to be launched soon, are available in two variants
The eight-coach Mini Vande Bharat Express will revolutionize travel between Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and Howrah in West Bengal. The launch of this new service follows the delivery of 15 Vande Bharat trainsets from Chennai's Integral Coach Factory. The forthcoming Mini Vande Bharat Express will be the fifth train linking Varanasi to prominent destinations across the nation.
During 2023, there was a report indicating that a proposal had been formulated and submitted to the Railway Board for a specialized Varanasi-Howrah Vande Bharat train. Upon finishing the route survey and submitting the report to the Railway Ministry, an announcement regarding the inauguration of Varanasi-Howrah Vande Bharat services is expected to be made soon.
These recently introduced trains are available in two variants: eight-coach sleeper coaches and chair cars. At present, Vande Bharat services connect Varanasi to New Delhi (via two trains), as well as to Patna and Ranchi, all originating from Varanasi Cantt station. Yet, there is an anticipation that the succeeding train will operate from Varanasi Junction Railway Station to Howrah Railway Station, This new train service aims to travel at speeds ranging from 130 to 160 km/hour, covering the distance between these lively cities in approximately six hours.
