[Photos] 'Makaravilakku Pooja' begins with a religious Procession

The two day religious program on the event of ‘Makaravilakku Pooja’ began today with a procession which started from Ayyappa Temple at 4 PM and concluded at 8 PM after passing through various parts of the city.

 

The two day religious program on the event of ‘Makaravilakku Pooja’ began today with a procession which started from Ayyappa Temple at 4 PM and concluded at 8 PM after passing through various parts of the city.

The pooja and other religious ceremonies started from the dawn today at the temple premises.

At 4 PM, the procession, which included chariots, elephant-rides, presentations by artists who came from Kerela for the event and the tableau of lord Ayyappa, started from Temple premises and covered Lok Kala Mandal, Chetak Circle, Hathipol, Delhigate, Town Hall, Surajpol, Bapu Bazar, Court Chauraha, Hanuman Temple and returned back to the temple premises by 8 PM.

Tomorrow, on 14th Jan, 2013, the religious proceedings will begin from 5 AM with ‘Palli Unntral’ in which Nirmalya Darshana, Ayyappa Suprabhata, Harinaam Keertan, Ganapati Homam, Usha Pooja Purnabhisheikham will be done. While in the evening at 6 PM, Nirmala, Deepradhna, Nirapara, Bhagwatiseva, Pushpabhisheikham, Bhajan – Keertan, Chendmelum and Kavdiya Maya Mayurnrityam will be done.

The program will then conclude at 9 PM with Maha Deeparadhana and Fireworks.
