Heavy Rain Alert in 17 Rajasthan Districts as Monsoon Intensifies

Forecasts indicate that Jodhpur, Bikaner and Ajmer divisions may receive heavy rainfall at some places on July 19

Udaipur, July 18, 2025 - The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for 17 districts in Kota, Ajmer and Jodhpur divisions on Friday July 18.

Udaipur, too, is seeing overcast skies and moderate-to-heavy rainfall today, July 18. The minimum temperature in the city today is likely to hover around 22°C while maximum may reach 26 °C.

According to IMD, a low-pressure system over Bihar has intensified into a well-marked low-pressure area, currently situated over south-eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is expected to gradually move further in the next 48 hours and will have its maximum impact over eastern Rajasthan on Friday.

On Thursday July 17, Ramganj Mandi, Khairabad and Kudayla in Kota district recorded 7.5 inches of rain within just five hours, severely affecting normal life. Water entered low-lying residential areas, and power supply remained disrupted for over six hours owing to waterlogging in the GSS (Grid Substation).

Forecasts indicate that Jodhpur, Bikaner and Ajmer divisions may receive heavy rainfall at some places on July 19, while light to moderate showers are likely in other regions.

Rainfall activity across the State is expected to decrease from July 20 onwards.
