Udaipur, Oct 28, 2025 - According to weather change alerts, unseasonal rainfall has begun in several parts of the state, including Udaipur. The spell of rain that started around 3 a.m. on Sunday night continued throughout Monday, causing widespread disruption. Due to the heavy downpour, roads in the city and fields in villages were submerged, badly affecting daily life. The rain has also damaged harvested crops lying in the fields.
Udaipur and other parts of the State are witnessing unseasonal rainfall owing to which there has been a sharp drop in daytime temperatures. On Monday, October 27, the maximum temperature was recorded at 21.8°C, and the minimum at 20.6°C. In contrast, on Sunday, the maximum was 29°C and the minimum 18°C. On Monday, the day and night temperatures remained nearly the same, indicating that night-time cold will now increase rapidly.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for Udaipur owing to cyclonic systems over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. A deep depression formed over the southeastern Bay of Bengal has intensified into the cyclonic storm Motha because of which rainfall is likely to continue through today, October 28. Another low-pressure area is present over the east-central Arabian Sea, while a new western disturbance has also become active.
IMD forecasts drop in intensity of rain in Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions by tomorrow, October 29. However, in Udaipur and southern parts of Rajasthan, light to moderate rain is also expected in the first week of November.
