Opposition against movie Padmavat is not yet over and the Bollywood industry is lined up with another controversy. Reports say that Kangana Ranaut starrer “Manikarnika” is drawing opposition in Rajasthan.
In a press conference held in Jaipur, it has been alleged that Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi distorts history regarding Rani Laxmi Bai as it shows her having a love affair with an British man. It has been pointed out that the film is based on a foreign book which is actually dampening the Queen’s reputation. Producer of the film has denied these allegations saying that the queen has been shown in an absolute respectful manner.
Some of the scenes of the film are being shot in Rajasthan. It has also been requested by a member of the Brahman Sabha attending the conference that the film producer must give an affidavit to the state government that no distortion of history has been shown in the film.(Inputs from media reports)
