It seems that the water has decided to maintain status quo in Roop Sagar area. No change has been reported in the condition in the last four days in Arihant vihar Colony located at the back side of the lake where people are using boats to go out.

 
It seems that the water has decided to maintain status quo in Roop Sagar area. No change has been reported in the condition in the last four days in Arihant vihar Colony located at the back side of the lake where people are using boats to go out. Administration Perplexed on Roop Sagar Issue The children are not going to school and there is lack of basic necessities like milk etc. The danger of mosquitoes and other insects has increased manifold due to the problem of water logging. On the request of the residents the Collector ordered to cut a part of the lake boundary to allow the water to flow. The problem started when the people of Keshav Nagar and nearby slum protested against the order of the Collector on the plea that this would damage the dam and consequently there will be water logging in New Keshav Nagar. On this pretext the Collector withdrew the order at about 11 am. This aroused the residents of Arihant nagar. They trapped the two members of UIT, Sunil Gurjar and Dhanraj Gurjar who went there in the afternoon to mark the boundary of the lake. Administration Perplexed on Roop Sagar Issue They demanded that the Collector must visit the site to solve their problem. The UIT people were not harassed but they were not allowed to work. Meanwhile the people of the slum put obstacle in the flow of the water and therefore the water level remained static. No personal comment has been given by any of the residents as they don’t want their names to come in media. On the other side the people of slum area are reluctant that the proposed cutting will destroy New Keshav Nagar. The Collector, Hemant Gera finally visited the site in the evening along with ADSP, Tejraj Singh and SDM, team from UIT comprising of an engineer Anil Nepalia and others also came to the scene. By the time of writing the news in the evening a JCB was called but the people did not allow it to enter.
