Initiative taken to revive the old walls of the city’s biggest tourist area and boost city’s culture
Udaipur, November 23, 2024: An innovative project was recently launched by the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), Nippon Paints and prominent local personality Yashvardhan Ranawat to elevate the city's cultural heritage. The old and dilapidated walls of Lal Ghat were worked upon and turned into stunning murals as a result of this project.
The IIID Udaipur team led the project, with president Anjali Dubey, Nikunj Rajgharia and Saurabh Doshi making significant contributions. The walls were cleaned, plastered up and painted. The end result was appreciated by all present. The beautiful paintings and attractive artwork will not only impress tourists but also the locals.
Ranawat, who is charter president of BCI Tourism, vice president of Udaipur Hotel Association, and Organisation Secretary of Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha, shared his thoughts on the initiative. He said, “Our goal is to collaborate with enthusiastic individuals, entrepreneurs and the administration to create more such projects in Udaipur. This step is aimed at establishing Udaipur as a world-class destination and working towards its nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage City.”
The event presentation by IIID was held at Jaywanta Haveli, Lal Ghat, and attended by distinguished guests, including former IIID (Kochi, Kerala) president Zabin Zakaria, NEC member (Jaipur) Anshuman Sharma and IIID chairman Sarosh Wadia.
