…Rain is Back

Some part of the boundary wall of Madar channel has collapsed due to heavy water flowing today evening, while gates of Swaroop Sagar are opened again at around 7:15pm to allow the water to flow.

After the heavy rainfall of Sept 11, 2011 the lakecity once again witnessed the series of heavy showers today after nearly 10 days.

The day of Tuesday started with clean sky with no signs of cloud till mid-day. But after 3 pm rain clouds mounted over the city, though rain was certainly not expected.

But challenging the expectations it started raining heavily at around 4:30pm which lasted till 6:30pm and then the rain lowered down to slight drizzle in the old city area which continued up to 7 pm.

Almost all the areas of Udaipur including Hiran Magri sectors, Pratap Nagar, Fatehpura, Saheli Nagar, Durga Nursery Road and the old city areas have witnessed heavy rain showers. Heavy traffic jam could be seen at Durga Nursery Road after the rain due to accumulation of water and parking of vehicles on both the sides of the road.

The city administration is still fighting with heavy water logging in many areas of city due to 9/11 rainfall, many roads are in worst condition.
