21st September is International Peace day. To begin the celebration, an art works exhibition and seminar will be held on 20th September. Municipal Corporation, Udaipur and Shantipeeth Sansthan are collaborating for this event. Students from government and non-government educational organisations will display their talents for which the theme is “Peaceful Towns”.
The students in the age group of 6 yrs to 10 yrs and 11 yrs to 15 years will exhibit their works in the conference hall of Municipal Corporation. 5 art works from each group will be selected which will be sent to Japan. Entries from around 163 countries will be sent to Japan and the best ones will be finalised. The event is being held on the insistence of International Organisation “Mayors for Peace”, Hiroshima. Mayors from 7789 cities of the world are members of this organisation.
It may be noted that the organisation “Mayors for Peace” is dedicated to promote peace and was established in 1982. It was initiated by the then Mayor of Hiroshima Takeshi Araki moved by the deaths of 1, 40,000 people in the atomic explosion of 1945.
